The third annual charity ride is locked in for Saturday the 30th of April. With a totally new route planned, it is sure to be bigger and better than ever.
This year we are starting at Savage Motorcycles in Midland. We will have a coffee truck on hand so you can have your caffeine fix.
We are heading out into the Perth Hills, making our way on some of Perth’s best backroads and finishing for lunch in Dwellingup.
The total distance is around 270kms, and we will be stopping along the way for a drink, a chance to stretch our legs, and chat with like-minded people. This is an all bitumen ride and anyone with a licence and a registered bike is invited. We will be having a fuel stop along the way at around 150km point if you need it, so no matter what bike you are on, you should have enough fuel between fill-ups.
Last year, we raised more than $11,000–enough to install two new water wells in remote villages in Tanzania and repair several other wells. This meant that we managed to bring clean, fresh water to over 4000 people for the first time in their lives. Thank you to everyone who participated. This year, we are hopeful we can match that incredible result.
There is no cost to join the ride–all we ask is that you make a donation. The donation can be as small or large as you would like. Anything over $2 is tax-deductible.
The ride is planned to cater for everyone, regardless of your vaccination status. The rest stops are in remote locations and the ride ends in Dwellingup. Once we get to Dwellingup, you are free to stay and have lunch or, if you prefer, you can head off–it’s totally up to you.
After lots of people asked about t-shirts last year. This year, we have t-shirts available. You can order your shirt when you register for the ride.
I hope you can join us for a great ride and the chance to make a significant difference in people’s lives in Tanzania by providing clean, fresh water. I look forward to catching up with you on the day.
